did they leave England?
Did you know they left for Holland to live before
boarding the Mayflower later?
Was there
a Plimoth Rock?
Where did the English
speaking Indian come from who saved their lives?
What
did they eat for the first feast?
Why not find out from the very writings of the Pilgrims themselves!
On November 11, 1620: "Land Ho!" The quiet
and calm daybreak was interrupted by the excited passengers joyously trying to
get a glimpse of the newly-sighted land in the morning light. At 6:55, the sun
began to peer over the east horizon; the day was calm, and the wind was fair.
Christopher Jones and his pilots identified the land they were approaching as
Cape Cod.
This Thanksgiving, gather around the fire with excerpts printed from this Ebook and tell the story of the Pilgrims from their own words! Travel far and wide with them, feel their feelings and let the incredible story of Plymouth Colony's Pilgrims unfold. Learn the real history of the Mayflower Pilgrims! Originally written in Olde English, these writings have been edited by Caleb Johnson, a Mayflower descendant and member of the General Society of Mayflower Descendants. Caleb has edited and published several books on Pilgrim and Mayflower history.

..on the First Thanksgiving there were only six women, and six girls. There were about 90 Indians at the first Thanksgiving, and only 51 Mayflower passengers. All passengers over 45 years old died the first winter except William Brewster who was a pastor.
From Edward Winslow:
"At which time, amongst other recreations, we exercised our arms, many of the Indians coming amongst us, and among the rest their great king Massasoit, with some ninety men, whom for three days we entertained and feasted, and they went out and killed five deer, which they brought to the Plantation and bestowed on our governor, and upon the captain and others."
